From The Band

in their own words...

Johnathon Wright
Lead Guitar
"I’m from Chattanooga, TN. I have always loved music and wanted to learn how to play the guitar. Fortunately, my stepdad played
and showed me the basics. I enjoyed playing and kept practicing over the years. I am also drawn to art, acting and gaming. I am also a supporter of organ donation, due to being a liver transplant recipient myself."

Devin Hodge
Lead Singer
Guitar

"I was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and raised in the Brainerd neighborhood. I started playing guitar by just goofing off, when I was around 7 or 8 years old. I got into playing guitar even more when I was 12. Over the years, I have played with friends, wouldn't even say bands. I started my band in 2020 and gave it a name that was fitting for what we're going through in the world, Dayz of Deception. I see my bandmates as a brotherhood, a family, a discipleship amongst us. Like any band, we've had very few come and go."

Drew Huggins
"Huggy-Bear"
Bassist
Vocals
"I picked up the bass around 2009 to try and impress a girl I liked back in the day and it led to a lifelong obsession. After school I played in a punk band for around 10 years after high-school and I met Devin Hodge through a friend in my old band. I quit the punk band and took on Dayz of Deception full time. It's been nothing but fart spray gas, bumper stickers, and gravy ever since."

Tyler Hodge
Guitar
"Born in Chattanooga, TN on July 31st, 1999. I grew up in the countryside in Jasper, TN for most of my childhood before moving back to Chattanooga when I was 14. I didn’t exactly have a rock background growing up, but I did listen to it. I focused a lot on the guitar playing style of Jason Mraz in high school and in my late teens. I became heavily influenced by grunge/nu-metal which has led to my unique play style when it comes to rock. I also give credit to my father for truly getting me into rock when he would let him come play for his band, which is now Dayz of Deception. Being in the band I have learned that it’s more than just a band, but it’s more like family."

Drums

Donnie is from Chattanooga, Tennessee and has been playing the drums for "just awhile," as he says. While he doesn't divulge much on the personal level, he is amazing on the drums!
